Location: The Barnfield Theatre, Exeter
Times:
10am – 9 years and older to arrive.
10:30am – 5-8 years to arrive.
1:10pm – Under 5’s to arrive.
6pm – Children to depart post show, starting with youngest.
Show day will be a big day for each of the students. We will do a traditional dress rehearsal the morning of the show where we go through each dance in turn, giving each dancer chance to practice getting into each costume and performing the routines on stage.
The day will be long with many arriving at 10am and not leaving until after the second show. It is very important the children come to this day with everything they need, with hair and make up done.
They will need food and water on this day, and plenty of it. Parents will not be able to take their child out for lunch as there isn’t the time before needing them for show call.
Back Stage Rules
No chewing gum or eating chocolate
Only water to drink
Costumes should be put in order as soon as possible
Hang up costumes, don’t leave them on the floor
Leave all hired costumes behind when you leave
No running or shouting backstage
Sign in on arrival and do not leave the backstage area until the end of the second show
Parents are to collect children from the designated area at the end of the show
Stay in the dressing room area so you can be found
No unauthorised visits backstage
Respect fellow performancers and chaperones
Don’t get make up on costumes (put a tshirt or hoody on over the top when reapplying)
No jewellery for the shows at all
Keep away from the side of stage until called
Keep the dressing room tidy by placing rubbish in the bin
Bring something quiet to do backstage (ie a book or colouring pencils – no pens!)
No photos unless in designated area
