Fitting in the right training can be tough. We all have this idea of what training should look like, but in reality everyone’s training should be different. We’ve all got different bodies, and our goals are all different. One may want to run fast, whereas another may want to get around. Many will already follow… Continue reading How To Plan Your Training

Run Training: Treadmill Sessions
If you're in the UK, you've probably noticed that the weather hasn't been great recently. The sun hasn't been out for less and less hours, making both morning and evening runs a little less pleasant, and the sofa or bed a lot more appetising. If dark running isn't your thing though, it might be time to switch over to treadmill running until the sessions start to change again. I've been slowly incorporating more and more treadmill sessions into my plan, and I'm not hating it as much as I thought I would. Here's a few sessions that you can do to help decrease your treadmill dread.
Training Talk – Base Run Training
There's a few weeks left of the year, and so for many runners there probably aren't any races that you're gearing up for. If there is, well done! I for one am only racing with myself in these coming weeks, especially as the races around my way are very much now turning to fun run events. If you're like me then, you may feel it's too early to start training for your next big race a the start of next year but don't want to loose the momentum of training that you've currently got into. So what should you do? The best answer is base training. Follow the blog post to find out more about base training.
Let’s Talk About Running Motivation
Most runners want to get out there and run further or faster. But in order to do this you need a certain level of motivation, to both go out for runs, and to do the right training. Additionally many runners, may also be trying to eat a little healthier or stick to a set diet… Continue reading Let’s Talk About Running Motivation

Most races held… Continue reading Race Review: What Came Before & The Nightjar
Monthly Miles Round Up – June 2019
This is hard month of running share with you. Mainly as there isn't much for me to share. I had a couple of weeks where I simply just didn't want to run. Overall I did about half the amount of running as I did last month, many of which were slower than my times for… Continue reading Monthly Miles Round Up – June 2019
Monthly Miles Round Up – May 2019
This is a little bit late as we're already in June but today I'm rounding out my runs for May and sharing them with you. I've also done round ups for March and April if you'd like to see a little bit more of my running journey. I had one goal for May, and that… Continue reading Monthly Miles Round Up – May 2019
Monthly Miles Round Up – April 2019
Another month has ended and so I am here to share with you the runs that I managed this month. I did this for the first time last month and really enjoyed the process of assessing where I did well and where I needed a little bit more improvement.
Monthly Miles Round Up – March 2019
I thought it was important to share the training that I've been doing in order to progress. Not only to try and give myself a little more accountability to running, but also to share with you the truth that may or may not come across on other outlets. I've recently found that my instagram is full of running photos, and not a lot else. I've been trying to force myself not to share run picture after run picture, but am finding that a little difficult. There's a couple of reasons for this, the first that the weather hasn't been amazing recently and so I've been trying to limit my time spent outside, the second running really has been the only real 'instagrammable' part of my life recently between commuting and work there's only been running, thirdly I've been trying new routes and sessions in my running recently that has inspired me to share and I've been doing so on my instagram. Because of this it may seem like I've been running way more than I actually have!
Dance on the Brain: Dizziness
We all have our own perception of what dizziness actually is. The word itself is used to describe a variety of bodily sensations that many patients cannot accurately relay to those treating them (Sloane, et al., 2001). When using the word dizzy many of us tend to be describing the continued sense of spinning, despite… Continue reading Dance on the Brain: Dizziness
